UPDATE: Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit North has identified the young man who was brought to the Shellbrook Hospital three days ago. He is Wesley Custer, 20 years old, originally from Denare Beach, but recently residing in the Prince Albert/Montreal Lake area.
His death is now being investigated as a homicide.
The Major Crimes Unit North is asking for the public assistance in identifying where Wesley was, what he did, who he was with and what he said during the days leading up to his death.
Anyone who has been in recent contact with Wesley Custer, or possess information regarding his recent contacts, is asked to please call Shellbrook RCMP at (306) 747-2606. The Major Crimes Unit North continues to be interested in receiving reports of suspicious activity around the Shellbrook Hospital in order to identify who brought Wesley Custer to the Shellbrook Hospital Friday night, Aug. 21.
BACKGROUND: Friday, Aug. 21, between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., a young male was brought to the Shellbrook Hospital in Shellbrook with serious injuries. The male died shortly after.
Shellbrook RCMP and the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit North attended the hospital and determined the death to be suspicious.
The Major Crimes Unit is asking for the public assistance in identifying the person(s) who brought him to the hospital.
If you have seen suspicious activity around the area of the Shellbrook Hospital yesterday evening, Friday Aug. 21, between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., please report it immediately to police.
Suspicious activity includes persons, vehicles or events that seemed unusual or out of place.
