Man charged with assault with a weapon in Saskatoon incident

With the assistance of the K-9 police dog unit, police located a suspect hiding in a shed in the backyard.
SASKATOON - A man has been charged with assault with a weapon following an incident in Saskatoon on July 19.

At about 9:10 a.m. Saskatoon Police were called to the 1800 block of Avenue B North for a report of an assault in progress. The call information stated a male was assaulting a female in a backyard.

When they arrived, officers noticed the man attempt to flee the scene, running towards the back alley. However, with the assistance of the K-9 police dog unit, police located the man, hiding in a shed in the backyard. Once again, the man attempted to evade police, but he was stopped and arrested.

A 42-year-old man is facing charges relating to assault; assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death, and failure to comply with court-ordered conditions. He was also arrested on outstanding warrants.
