Saskatoon police seize vehicle, cell phones, fake money, drugs

SASKATOON - A man is facing drug- and weapon-related charges following an investigation by the Saskatoon Police Service Crime Reduction Team (CRT) in Saskatoon.

Just after 9 p.m. on Sept. 11, police executed two search warrants for a home on Assiniboine Drive and a vehicle.

Police seized the following items as evidence for this investigation – a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe; three cellular phones; counterfeit Canadian currency ($100 denomination); counterfeit identification; $6,390 in cash; 1,117 grams powdered cocaine (full kilo repressed); 168 grams crack cocaine; a machete; packaging material; two digital scales; and a cutting agent and other indications consistent with drug trafficking.

As a result, a 30-year-old man is facing seven charges for drug-, weapon- and counterfeit item-related offences. 

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court on Sept. 12.
