Man injured following armed break and enter, assault in Saskatoon

After a search by the Police Service Dog (PSD), officers located and seized a discarded shotgun a short distance away..
SASKATOON - Saskatoon Police Service are investigating an armed break and enter, and assault that left one man with injuries.

At about 1:30 a.m. on July 12, police responded to a report of an armed break and enter in progress in the 70 block of Rupert Drive.

When they arrived, officers learned that three men armed with a firearm and bear spray had broken into the home and assaulted a 22-year-old man at gunpoint, prior to fleeing the scene.

The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

A second man that had been inside the home at the time of the break and enter was not physically injured.

After a search by the Police Service Dog (PSD), officers located and seized a discarded shotgun a short distance away.

Members of the General Investigations Section are continuing to investigate.
