MELFORT — A man who went missing from Melfort in January has been found deceased.
RCMP say Quade Ballantyne was located deceased on April 8 by Melfort RCMP officers conducting patrols in an area just outside of Melfort.
Through a joint investigation between the Saskatchewan RCMP and Saskatchewan Coroners Service, pending final results of the autopsy and toxicology, preliminary indication is that no foul play is suspected in relation to Quade’s death.
Melfort RCMP says, "Our thoughts are with his family."
Quade Ballantyne was last seen on Kennedy Drive in Melfort the evening of Jan. 3.
He indicated that he was heading to Prince Albert, possibly on foot, but this had not been confirmed, police said. He was last heard from at approximately 1 a.m. His family was concerned as he was not dressed appropriately for the weather and has not been in contact since.
RCMP issued a release to the public for help finding Ballantyne on Jan. 4.
