SASKATOON—Several roads and streets will be closed this weekend for various reasons, and motorists are advised to find alternate routes.
Ruth Street, Irvine, and Blain avenues will be closed starting Saturday, Sept. 28. The project will only take one day to complete, weather permitting and barring unforeseen circumstances.
The Traffic Bridge and Victoria Avenue, between 11th and 19th streets, will be closed at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, for the Nuit Blanche festival.
Additional event road restrictions include: 3rd Avenue between 21st and 19th streets, Spadina Crescent between 2nd Avenue and 20th Street, Broadway Avenue between 12th and Main streets, and 12th Street between Eastlake and Broadway avenues.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the roads and streets mentioned above and streets will reopen after 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29.
Motorists are reminded to drive carefully and watch for participants. The city is thanking everyone for their patience.
On Sunday, Sept. 29, Circle Drive’s northbound left turning lane to Airport Drive and the Airport Drive left turning lane to Circle Drive northbound will be closed starting at 7:00 a.m. for traffic signal work.
This project will take one day to complete, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances.
Monday road closures will be at Avenue H between Rusholme Road and 28th Street, 33rd Street between avenues B and C, and Evergreen Boulevard between Lowe and Zary roads.
The road closure at Avenue H will start at 7 a.m. for connection replacements, the one at 33rd begins at 9 a.m. for cut repair, and Evergreen Boulevard at 7:00 a.m. for water and sewer connections.
The Avenue H and 33rd projects are expected to take only one day to complete. At the same time, the one on Evergreen Boulevard has a timeline of four days to complete, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances.
On Tuesday, Oct. 1, Melville Street will be closed between Lore and Jasper avenues beginning at 7:00 a.m. for infrastructure improvements. Weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances, this project will take two days to complete.
City crews will place detour signs to guide motorists around the respective construction zones.
Residents who use Saskatoon Transit are advised to plan their trips as these detours may affect bus routes. Third-party apps like Transit and Google Maps Transit offer transit service alerts and real-time bus information on desktops.
