Cut Knife RCMP are investigating a theft of a skid steer believed to be responsible for causing a collision on nearby roads.

The detachment received a complaint May 29 at 9:30 a.m., of a stolen Scat Trak skid steer. The equipment was stolen from an oil lease site north of Neilburg.

The item was located soon after, but upon further investigation it was determined the skid steer was used to push a large boulder into the middle of a secondary road in the RM of Hillsdale.

Police say that resulted in a serious motor vehicle collision where a truck was seriously damaged. No injuries were reported.

Cut Knife RCMP now seek the public's assistance in relation to this incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cut Knife RCMP at 306-398-3500 or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or via the Internet at www.saskcrimestoppers.com. Callers do not have to leave their name and do not have to testify in court.

The RCMP also wants to remind the public to ensure all equipment is secured when leaving a work site.
