SaskEV has introduced the Community Charging Grant, a $2,000 funding opportunity for organizations in Saskatchewan. The grant is intended to help cover the cost of installing electric vehicle charging infrastructure for EV drivers visiting, working and living in Saskatchewan communities.
All organizations in Saskatchewan are welcome to apply. SaskEV says is will be looking for hotels, malls, theatres, museums, parks, beaches, arenas, stadiums and other spots that can attract visitors for several hours. It will especially (but not exclusively) be interested in locations and communities without existing EV charging infrastructure.
Interested organizations can apply on the website at SaskEV.ca until Friday, Oct. 2.
Short listed applicants will be required to provide a quote via email from a local electrician detailing equipment and installation costs for the desired location. SaskEV will then be seeking feedback from its membership regarding their favourite locations amongst the finalists. The final winner is expected to be revealed in November.
SaskEV Society Inc. (SaskEV) is an electric vehicle group based in Saskatoon and region since October, 2017 focused on building momentum for electric vehicles in Saskatchewan. More information can be found on the website at www.saskev.ca and on social media through Meetup, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
“We hope the 2020 SaskEV Community Charging Grant will help more locations and communities learn the benefits of EV charging, while also providing a new spot to charge for drivers as they seek to experience our great province,: said Jason Cruickshank, SaskEV President.
