Getting the mail could now be easier for some Battleford residents.
With a sign and a bit of paint, the town has made a handicap parking space is in front of the post office.
The parking space is at an angle.
Some have questioned why the stall is in front of the building rather than on the building’s west side, which is close to the ramp that leads to the post office door.
According to Battleford’s CAO John Enns-Wind’s administrative report, the handicap parking space needs to be 2.8 metres wide, beside a 1.2 metre to 1.5 metre space with painted lines, which the space on the west side doesn’t accommodate.
The regulations are from the Transportation Authority of Canada.
