The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency has announced it is launching a new website that will help residents receive emergency information.

The new site at saskpublicsafety.ca will provide a single portal for fire and emergency information, prevention education and tools, current fire bans, and wildfire activity. It also includes a map that displays SPSA responses to emergencies.

Starting today, the current pages at www.saskatchewan.ca/spsa and www.saskatchewan.ca/fire websites will automatically redirect to saskpublicsafety.ca ..

"The site was designed so that residents can find emergency and disaster mitigation information quickly and efficiently," said Minister of Policing, Corrections and Public Safety Christine Tell in a news release.  "It will also be connected to the provincial emergency alerting system, SaskAlert, making it easier to follow active events."

"This is only the beginning, “ Tell said. ”The new website will continue to evolve to meet the needs of Saskatchewan residents and the agency's stakeholders."
