Northwest students earn U of S degrees

There are many local and regional grads at the University of Saskatchewan's Fall Convocation.

Graduating form the college of education with a bachelor of education were Charles George Conner and Cheryl Miranda King of Loon Lake, Anthony Michael Kytwayhat of North Battleford, Roxanne Colleen Nicotine of Red Pheasant First Nation and Gina Mildred Pelletier of Leask. Charles George Conner also graduated with distinction. Receiving a post degree certificate in special education were Kimberley Dawn Dyck of North Battleford and Lisa Ann Winia. Dustin Lee Kasun, of North Battleford received his master's in Education. His educational foundations project concerned ecojustice.

The College of Nursing awarded Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees to Lisa Marie Bilanski of Battleford, Tina Jean Gabruch of Unity, Denise Wilma Kopp of North Battleford and Myranda Marie Schell of Unity.

Local graduates from the College of Arts and Science include Sheila K. Goojha of Spiritwood, who majored in Sociology, Nikki Chassidy Jacobson of North Battleford, who majored in English, and Tirzah Raelyn Naharney of Blaine Lake, who received his degree in English with great distinction. All three received three year Bachelor of Arts degrees.

Receiving four-year bachelor of arts degrees were Meghan Charlene Nyholt of North Battleford, who majored in history, and Dexter Howe Thunder of Thunderchild First Nation, who majored in economics.

Receiving an Honours BA was Tammy Lynn Clarke of Edam, who majored in psychology. Kyle Allan Gunderson of Glaslyn received a three-year B.Sc. in Computer Science with distinction.

Joelle Kimberly Fournier of Lashburn received her B.Sc. with distinction in kinesiology, specializing in exercise and sport studies.

Josh-Wade Riley Dean Ferguson of North Battleford received his MA in English with a project entitled "Searching for community and place in the blues: getting back home in Elmore James's 'Dust My Broom' and 'I Believe.'"

North Battlford's Yong Chan Ku received a Master of public administration degree from the Johnson-SHoyama Graduate School of Public Policy and Darren Rodney Enns of Medstead
