STURGEON LAKE FIRST NATION — Update Dec. 27: On Dec. 27, Joshua Naytowhow was arrested by Prince Albert Police Service in the city of Prince Albert. He will appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.
Background, Dec. 17: Prince Albert RCMP are looking for suspect charged with armed robbery.
On Dec. 14, at approximately 9:20 p.m., Prince Albert RCMP received a report of a robbery on Sturgeon Lake First Nation.
Investigation has determined that an adult male approached a vehicle and threatened the occupants with what was described as a firearm. The occupants fled and were not injured. It was reported the adult male, along with two other individuals, then attempted to steal the vehicle but were unsuccessful.
As a result of this investigation, Joshua Naytowhow, 30, of Sturgeon Lake First Nation has been charged with:
- 1 count, robbery with firearm, Section 344(1)(b), Criminal Code
- 1 count, use of imitation firearm while committing an offence, Section 85(2)(a), Criminal Code
- 2 counts, fail to comply with probation order, Section 733.1(1), Criminal Code
A warrant has been issued for his arrest and Prince Albert RCMP are actively trying to locate and arrest him.
Joshua Naytowhow is described as approximately 6’ tall and 150 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes.
