The City of North Battleford has announced expansion is coming to Parsons Industrial Park.

The next phase of development - a 23-acre spread of land in the southeast corner of the city - has begun, the City announced Monday.

The City adds that a concept plan for the park's remaining more than 600 acres has been designed to respond to increasing market demand and illustrate the long-term development plan for the area.

The lots in that area start at .6 acre and the city says these can be combined into larger lots to accommodate any development.

Existing tenants there include Viterra, Cargill, Kindersley Transport, the University of Saskatchewan Canadian Feed Technology Research Facility and others.

In a statement, City Planner Tim LaFreniere noted the growth in the area. "Business development in Parsons Industrial Park has grown significantly over the last few years," said Lafreniere.

He added that "with only four lots remaining, we need to increase our inventory to supply our growing industrial demand."
