Police seize CO2 firearms while responding to weapons complaints

Officers were able to locate and detain the suspect a short distance away in one incident.

SASKATOON - Two people were arrested over the weekend following two separate weapons offences in Saskatoon.

At approximately 9 p.m. on Sept. 28, police received a report of a domestic dispute in an alley in the 2800 block of Rusholme Road.

Upon arrival, officers located the suspect and the victims; the male suspect was detained for an assault investigation. After searching him, officers located a CO2 firearm.

As a result, a 17-year-old male youth was arrested and faces charges relating to carrying and concealing a weapon.

In a separate incident, one man was arrested Sunday night in relation to a weapons call.

On Sept. 29 at approximately 8:40 p.m., police were called to the 2200 block of 22nd Street West for a weapons complaint. Initial information stated a male had a gun.

Upon arrival, officers were able to locate and detain the suspect a short distance away. After searching him, police located a CO2 firearm.

As a result, the 21-year-old man was arrested and faces charges relating to possession of a weapon, and concealing a weapon.
