Public asked for tips in North Battleford homicide

NORTH BATTLEFORD – Police are looking to the public for help in their investigation into a June 16 death.

That evening, just before 11 p.m., North Battleford RCMP received a report of an injured person on the 1400 block of 114th Street.

"RCMP officers arrived and provided initial medical assistance prior to EMS arrival," said RCMP in a media release. "The victim, identified as 32-year-old Kaylee Crookedneck from Ministikwan Lake Cree Nation, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her death is considered a homicide."

Several experts are working on this investigation, including the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes, North Battleford RCMP, North Battleford and Provincial RCMP General Investigation Sections, Forensic Identification Services and the Saskatchewan Coroner's Service.

"Investigators are releasing Kaylee’s identity to assist their ongoing investigation," RCMP said.
