UPDATE: Glen Frederick Halkett, known locally as “Baby Glen,” was located in the city of Prince Albert Monday morning and was arrested by Prince Albert Police Service. More information will be released in collaboration with Prince Albert Police Service.
UPDATE: As the weekend is approaching, RCMP want to advise residents in the Prince Albert Detachment area that the investigation related to the theft of a white truck on Aug. 11 that involved a firearm remains ongoing. We continue to ask the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles to police immediately by calling 911.
At this time, we do not have more descriptive details available about the suspects involved in this incident. If there are urgent updates related to this investigation, we will issue them to our media partners to help notify the public.
UPDATE: Saskatchewan RCMP are advising public of increased police presence on Sturgeon Lake First Nation
Saskatchewan RCMP officers continue their efforts to locate the suspects involved in the theft of a white truck which involved a firearm on Aug. 11. Residents in these areas are advised to NOT APPROACH suspicious individuals and to immediately report any suspicious people or activity to police by calling 911. Investigators believe the suspects may be armed.
Investigators also continue efforts to locate Glen Frederick Halkett, who is also known locally as “Baby Glen”. An arrest warrant has been issued for Glen Halkett.
BACKGROUND: Investigators continue to investigate an incident that occurred in the RM of Buckland. The initial report was the theft of a white truck involving a firearm which was reported to police this morning at approximately 9:50 Wednesday morning. After receiving the initial report, investigators immediately deployed to the area and quickly located the suspect vehicle. However, investigators were unable to stop the vehicle.
Officers from surrounding detachments continue their efforts to locate the suspects involved in this incident. Residents in the areas surrounding the city of Prince Albert may see an increased police presence. Residents in these areas are advised to NOT APPROACH suspicious individuals and to immediately report any suspicious people or activity to police by calling 911. Investigators believe the suspects may be armed.
Investigators believe this incident is related to a robbery with a firearm that occurred on the Little Red River First Nation on Aug. 7. The investigation into the August 7th incident resulted in charges against Glen Frederick Halkett, 25, of Sturgeon Lake First Nation, who is considered armed and dangerous. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. He has been charged with:
- Robbery With Firearm
- Possess Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace
- Pointing a Firearm
- Careless Use of a Firearm
- Use a Firearm During the Commission of an Offence
Glen Frederick Halkett is described as being 5'6" tall and weighing approximately 130 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Glen Halkett may be in the communities of Little Red River First Nation, Sturgeon Lake First Nation, Prince Albert, Shellbrook or Ahtahkakoop First Nation, but this is not confirmed.
Members of the public should NOT APPROACH him and should call 911 immediately if he is seen.
