HUMBOLDT — The subzone that contains Humboldt and area has set a record for the number of active COVID-19 cases.
According to data from the provincial government's COVID dashboard, as of Sept. 12, Central East 1 has 53 active cases.
The previous record, set March 2, 2021, saw 50 active cases.
There are 10 new cases as of Sept. 12. The record for that is 14 new cases in a single day, set Feb. 27, 2021.
Central East 1 contains Humboldt, Bruno, Watson, Watrous and Strasbourg. The province estimates there are 25,225 living in the subzone.
