Semi hangs up on overpass

Traffic was backed up on Highway 4 for several hours in Battleford early Friday morning after an incident on the Highway 16 overpass. At 4 a.m. Battlefords RCMP were called to a single vehicle rollover involving a semi trailer.

Traffic was backed up on Highway 4 for several hours in Battleford early Friday morning after the east-bound semi unit lost control and went over on the right side of the Highway 16 overpass.

Traffic was backed up on Highway 4 for several hours in Battleford early Friday morning after an incident on the Highway 16 overpass.

At 4 a.m. Battlefords RCMP were called to a single vehicle rollover involving a semi trailer. The east-bound semiunit lost control and went over on the right side ofthe overpass.

The driver and passenger were trapped inside the tractor unit, which was hanging over the edge of the railing.

Battleford Fire Department and EMS arrived on scene ensuring the safe extraction of the driver and passenger. Both driver and passenger were safe and found to have non life threatening injuries. They were provided further medical care at Battlefords Union Hospital.

Eastbound traffic coming to the Highway 16 bypass was to be rerouted for the next few hours until the vehicle and debris were cleared from the roadway.

Traffic coming from Battleford was rerouted for several hours to ensure the safe flow of traffic across the bridge.
