MELFORT — Shaun Stewart has been hired into the role of director of protective services and fire chief for the City of Melfort, following Jason Everitt leaving the role.
Stewart has served 10 years as a member of the Buckland Fire Department in Prince Albert, as well as 15 years with the City of Abbottsford Fire and Rescue.
This will be his first official fire chief and director role.
Stewart will take over the leadership of the fire service team effective immediately, and will report directly to Ryan Danberg, the city manager.
