HUMBOLDT — More restrictions on visitors have been lifted as the Humboldt District Health Complex moves to a pandemic recovery phase.
As of the beginning of March, according to the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation’s Facebook page, there are no limits on who among family or support persons can visit a patient at the hospital. There can only be two visitors for a patient at a time indoors.
Back at the end of January, a COVID-19 outbreak saw the hospital enter Level 3 pandemic restrictions, which meant no visitors were allowed in the facility, excluding patients who were at the end of life.
Near the end of February, restrictions were placed at Level 1. At that level, only two people from within a patient’s family or support people could visit, and only one of them at a time.
There are a few other rules attached to the pandemic recovery phase.
The timing of in-person visits may be subject to scheduling limitations of the unit. Scheduling requirements will be decided by each unit.
Up to four essential family or support persons can be present at the same time in intensive care; maternal, postpartum and pediatric units; end-of-life or palliative care.
Community members are asked to follow Saskatchewan Health Authority guidelines for screening, personal protective equipment and distancing.
All families and visitors entering an SHA facility at this time are still required to wear a medical grade mask. Masks are required at all times in acute care facilities and in common areas in long-term care facilities
Free medical masks will be provided at screening stations when entering a SHA facility or long-term care home.
