If you blinked, you might have missed the special meeting held by North Battleford city council Monday.

The meeting had been called to debate and vote a resolution to reconsider a previously-passed approval of a three-year tax exemption for a property on the 1300 block of 107th Street under the Inner City Residential Development Incentive. That property is owned by Pat and Bev MacIsaac.

Before that resolution could come up, council needed to give unanimous consent to waive a notice requirement so that the matter could be brought up at that special meeting.

Immediately both Councillor Trent Houk and Mayor Ian Hamilton voted against providing unanimous consent.

With that, the special meeting came to an abrupt and unexpected early end.

The resolution to reconsider the tax exemption will instead come up at the next regular council meeting May 27.

As for the special meeting, it had lasted a grand total of four minutes, prompting one councilor to say "that's got to be a record".
