Two motor vehicle accidents were among the many activities that kept fire crews busy over the past weekend. The most serious accident happened on a service road near Tim Hortons on Railway Avenue Saturday at 1:37 a.m.

The most serious accident happened on a service road near Tim Hortons on Railway Avenue Saturday at 1:37 a.m.

North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services reports that one occupant of the vehicle was taken to Battlefords Union Hospital with unknown injuries.

One fire apparatus and three firefighters responded to the scene.

Emergency crews also responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision with a deer on highway 4 north.

That incident happened Saturday after 9 p.m. One fire apparatus and three firefighters responded but there were no injuries.

NBFES also responded to a two other incidents.

Sunday, NBFES staff responded to a fire three miles north of the city on highway 4. The incident happened around 3 p.m. Fire crews found debris left on the roadside from some type of electronic equipment that had burned out prior to their arrival. There were no witnesses on the scene and the cause was undetermined.

As well, North Battleford Fire reported responding to a sharps pickup Saturday around 6:15 p.m. on 19th Avenue and 92nd Street.
