THE BATTLEFORDS - The U13 Battlefords Barons 2 are celebrating their recent championship in the STEP league.
The Barons took the title on March 23 following an outstanding regular season and playoff run. The winning team was coached by Travis Florence, Scott Florence and assistant coach Stu Southgate.
During the regular season the team finished undefeated at 16-0, and then went on a playoff tear as one of 22 teams in the playoffs.
In the league finals, the Barons defeated Turtleford in two games. They beat Turtleford 7-2 in game one in Turtleford, and then won the second game 5-2 at Access Communications Centre to win the title.
