The Canadian Football League has hit Saskatchewan Roughriders' defensive lineman Miles Brown in the pocket book.
The 27-year-old was fined the maximum allowable, half a game cheque, for delivering a low hit on Winnipeg Blue Bombers' quarterback Chris Streveler during the Labour Day rematch in Week 14. The play in question happened in the third quarter during a short yardage down. Streveler revealed on Instagram that he tore three ligaments in his knee which will put him out for the remainder of the season.
It's the second fine for Brown in as many games played, he had to pay up after hitting Zach Collaros high in the Labour Day Classic.
The six-foot-two, 320-pound Brown has played 11 games making 11 tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble.
The Roughriders are back on the field Friday night when Saskatchewan heads to Calgary to take on the Stampeders. Countdown to Kick-off begins with Justin Dunk and Wes Cates at 4:30 p.m. Luc Mullinder, and I will join in at 6:30 p.m. with the kick-off to follow at 7:30 p.m. on the Co-operators Roughrider Radio Network.
