Junior Crusaders perform well at home tourney

The John Paul II Collegiate boys' team came so close to winning their home tournament, but since it was the first tournament of the season they have to be happy with the result. The boys competed with Medstead, Meadow Lake and Maymont.

The John Paul II Collegiate boys' team came so close to winning their home tournament, but since it was the first tournament of the season they have to be happy with the result.

The boys competed with Medstead, Meadow Lake and Maymont. After the round robin, John Paul II sat in first place with a 6-1 record. The Crusaders only lost set came at the hands of Meadow Lake. Scores in the round robin for the Crusaders were: 25-8 and 25-4 over Maymont, 25-23, 16-25 and 17-15 over Meadow Lake and 25-10 and 27-25 against Medstead.

JP II beat Maymont in the semi final setting up a rematch with Meadow Lake. This time it was Meadow Lake's turn as they beat the Crusaders and capture first place.

On the girls' side, the draw included two JP II teams, North Battleford Comprehensive High School, Medstead and Meadow Lake.

John Paul II Blue played Medstead in the semi final, but were beat. Meadow Lake went on to beat Medstead and take the championship after beating NBCHS in the semi final.

The JP II teams were back in action Tuesday with league play. Junior volleyball disrticts are scheduled for Nov. 4.
