North Stars suffer two losses

The Battlefords North Stars looked to get in the win column, as they hosted Weyburn Friday and were in Kindersley Saturday, but ynfortunately they are still winless in the 2010-11 season.

The Battlefords North Stars looked to get in the win column, as they hosted Weyburn Friday and were in Kindersley Saturday, but ynfortunately they are still winless in the 2010-11 season.

Saturday, Weyburn dominated with a 7-1 win at the Civic Centre.

Calder Neufeld was the lone goal scorer with Josh Daley and Woody Klassen earning the assists.

As for Weyburn, Drew George had two goals and an assist, Brock Appleyard had a goal and three assists, Lucas Ulmer and Coltyn Sanderson had a goal and an assist, Kyle Vogel and Jesse Ross each had single markers and TJ Wees had three assists and Kevin Morrison had one helper.

Ryley Hengen was the winning goalie with 21 saves. Kyle Birch suffered the loss after facing 37 shots. Weyburn were 4/11 on the powerplay the North Stars were 0/4.

The next night in Kindersley didn't go much better. Blake Tatchell and Nathan Tomac scored with Colin Phaneuf, Neufeld and Cody Folstad earning assists.

For Kindersley, Braeden Adamyk scored twice, Taylor Duzan had a goal and two assists, Beau Taylor, Pearce Gourley and Johnathon Sonntag had single markers and Johnny Calkins, Sanfred King and Sean Flanagan had three assists each.

Scott Hellyer was the winning goalie with 36 saves. Alex Sirard made 41 saves in a losing effort.
