Saskatchewan Roughriders catch CFL free agent Canadian receiver Tommy Nield

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed veteran Canadian receiver Tommy Nield. Initially selected by the Toronto Argonauts in the fourth round of the 2021 CFL draft, Nield spent the last four seasons with the Argos.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed veteran Canadian receiver Tommy Nield.

Initially selected by the Toronto Argonauts in the fourth round of the 2021 CFL draft, Nield spent the last four seasons with the Argos.

In his time with the Toronto Argonauts, the 25-year-old Nield played 41 games, making 63 receptions for 776 yards, two touchdowns, and a 12.2 yards-per-catch average. Nield is a two-time Grey Cup Champion, winning with Toronto in both 2022 and 2024.

Before turning pro, Nield spent four seasons (2017-2020) at McMaster University, helping the team win the Yates Cup in 2019.

Including playoff games in 2019, Nield caught 48 passes for 688 yards and four touchdowns, earning him a spot on the Second Team OUA All-Star roster.
