Courtney Laycook has taken the next step in her hockey career, as she graduates from the Sharks and has committed to the Rainy River Community College women's hockey program.

The program was implemented in 2005-06 to create an opportunity for players to play hockey after high school and continue to develop their skills and create a possible opportunity to move onto four more years at college or university hockey in the future.

Rainy River Community College is located in Minnesota and the RRCC Voyageurs play in the ACHA Division II conference and are defending champions.

2010-11 was Laycook's rookie season, as the Battleford product had one goal in 27 games while playing defence with the Sharks.

Laycook become the 45th player to commit to a hockey program that graduated from the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League last season and the second Shark from last year's roster.

Amanda Grainger committed to Liberty University for this season.
