It was a busy Friday and Saturday in the Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League. Here is a look at the scores from the weekend action: Friday in Glaslyn, the Glaslyn North Stars beat the Radisson Wheatkings 9-5.

It was a busy Friday and Saturday in the Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League. Here is a look at the scores from the weekend action:

Friday in Glaslyn, the Glaslyn North Stars beat the Radisson Wheatkings 9-5. Calin Koczka had four goals and two assists in the win for Glaslyn, Ty Anderson also had two goals and three assists.

Also Friday in Perdue, the Pirates beat the Spiritwood Timberwolves 11-5. The Pirates won on the strength of two hat tricks from Brett Armstong and from Andrew Bailey; Steven Toporowski also had two goals for Perdue.

In Saturday action, it was a different story for the Pirates on the road in Battleford as they fell to the Beaver Blues 8-2. Cody Danberg had two goals and one assist to lead the way for the Blues.

The Turtleford Tigers beat Maymont Settlers 3-1 in Maymont. Jordan MacNab had two goals in the win for Turtleford.

Finally on Saturday, the Meota Combines won in Glaslyn 6-4. Bryce Gatzke had a hat trick for the Combines; Glaslyn also got a hat trick from Ty Anderson in defeat.

Standings so far have the Beaver Blues in first place with a record of five wins and one loss. Perdue, Meota and Turtleford share second place with three wins apiece.

The schedule of games this weekend sees Battleford at Maymont and Spiritwood at Glaslyn on Friday; Saturday night’s schedule has Glaslyn at Turtleford, Maymont at Radisson and Spiritwood versus Meota at the Don Ross Centre in North Battleford.
