Up and down week for local minor hockey teams

Midget A

It was a decent week for the Midget A Broncos, who picked up their first win of the year, but managed just a 1-2 week.

It was an The week to an excellent start for the Broncos as they picked up a 7-6 win over Watrous on Jan. 12 in Watrous.

Cody Bergermann led the way offensively scoring twice, while Luke Stadnyk, Dawson Barlage, Kaleb Pulice, Theo Flory, and Lorne Abrey each scored once, as the Broncos trailed 3-2 after the first and 5-4 after the second.

After picking up their first win of the year, the Broncos were unable to keep that momentum rolling into their next contest, as they fell 7-4 to Davidson on Jan. 13 in LeRoy.

Pulice led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring twice, while Bray Berschiminsky and Barlage added singles, as the Broncos trailed 2-0 after one and 3-1 after two.

Unfortunately for the Broncos things continued getting worse as their final game of the week resulted in an 11-2 loss to Wynyard on Jan. 14 in Wynyard.

Barlage and Bergermann each scored once for the Broncos, who trailed 4-0 after the first period and 10-0 after the second.

Bantam A

It was a tough week for the Bantam A Broncos as they managed just a single win in three tries.

It was an excellent start to the week for the Broncos as they picked up a 9-2 win over Muenster on Jan. 8 in Muenster.

Kyden Molsberry led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring five times, while Carter Pavelich chipped in with a pair, and Dominic Weninger and Lauren Hinz each added one as the Broncos led 2-1 after the first and 6-1 after the second.

The week then took a turn for the worse for the Broncos as they fell 9-7 to Lanigan on Jan. 13 in Lanigan.

Pavelich led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring three times, while Molsberry chipped in with a pair, and Jack Biemans and Dallin Fraser each added singles as the Broncos were tied 2-2 after one and trailed 7-5 after two.

The final game of the week did not go much better for the Broncos as they fell 5-4 to Lanigan on Jan. 14 in LeRoy.

Rayden Ottman, Lauren Hinz, Molsberry, and Fraser each found the back of the net for the Broncos, who were tied 0-0 after one, and 1-1 after two.

Peewee AA

It was a rough week for the Peewee AA Broncos as they finished with just one win in three games.

The week got off to an ugly start for the Broncos as they were pounded 12-2 by Tisdale on Jan. 10 in Tisdale.

Rylen Sigstad and Edward Knittig had the goals for the Broncos, who trailed 4-0 after the first and 8-1 after the second.

The week turned around for the Broncos in their second game of the week as they picked up a 5-3 win over Melfort on Jan. 13 in Melfort.

Bauer Dumanski finished with a game high three goals for the Broncos, while Cam Marshak and Thomas Salter each added a single as the Broncos led 1-0 after one period and 4-0 after two periods.

Unfortunately for the Broncos they were unable to carry the momentum over into their final game of the week, as they fell 9-6 to Prince Albert on Jan. 14 in Prince Albert.

For the second straight game, Dumanski finished with a game high three goals for the Broncos, while Marshak, Ryland Martin, and Blaise Athmer each scored once as the Broncos were tied 2-2 after one and trailed 5-2 after two.

Peewee 2

It was an excellent week for the Peewee 2 Broncos who picked up a 3-2 win over Watrous in their lone game of the week on Jan. 10 in Humboldt.

Tristen Nordick, Joe Green, and Wyatt Flory all found the back of the net for the Broncos who trailed 1-0 after the first period and were tied 1-1 after the second.

Atom North

It was an average week for the Atom North Broncos as they picked up a win and a loss in two games.

The week got off to an awful start for the Broncos as they were blasted 7-1 by Muenster on Jan. 9 in Muenster.

Caden Bauml scored the lone goal for the Broncos, who trailed 2-1 after the first and 3-1 after the second.

The week ended on a high note for the Broncos as they routed Wynyard 2 10-4 on Jan. 13 in LeRoy.

Liam Zimmerman and Jimmy Ingram led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring three times each, while Cohen Siermachesky chipped in with a pair, and Thadeus Molsberry and Seth Holtvogt each scored once as the Broncos led 4-1 after one and 7-2 after two.

Atom South

It was a tough week for the Atom South Broncos as they failed to win a game in three tries.   

It was an ugly start to the week for the Broncos who were obliterated 14-1 by Lanigan on Jan. 8 in Lanigan.

Maya Mortenson scored the lone goal for the Broncos, who trailed 5-0 after the first period and 8-0 after the second.

The week did not get any better for the Broncos as they were routed by Lanigan once again, this time losing 11-2 on Jan. 10 in LeRoy.

Sloan Harder scored both of the Broncos’ goals, as they trailed 6-1 after period one and 8-1 after period two.

The final game of the week did not go any better for the green and gold as they were destroyed 14-5 by Drake/Nokomis on Jan. 14 in Drake.

Harder led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring four times, while Preston Hoppe chipped in with a single as the Broncos trailed 4-0 after period one and 10-5 after period two.

Novice 1

It was an excellent week for the Broncos as they cruised passed Watrous 14-2 on Jan. 9 in Watson.

Preston Hoppe led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring seven times, while Jimmy Ingram chipped in with five, and Luke Manz added a pair as the Broncos held leads of 5-1 after the first period, and 9-2 after the second.

Novice 2

It was a solid week for the Novice 2 Broncos as they picked up wins in each of their two contests.

The week got off to an unbelievable start for the Broncos as they laid the smackdown on Muenster/Lake Lenore W on Jan. 9 as they picked up a 20-0 win in Lake Lenore.

Thadeus Molsberry, Tryce Wallin, and Jonah Hayward led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring four times each, while Tylan Wallin chipped in with a pair, Jake Hoppe and Carter Trann each scored twice, and Rowan Clement added a single as the Broncos led 5-0 after period one and 13-0 after period two.

The Broncos wrapped up their week with a comfortable 7-2 win over Muenster/Lake Lenore on Jan. 13 in Lake Lenore.

Tryce Wallin scored four times for the Broncos, while Molsberry chipped in with a pair, and Tylan Wallin added a single as the Broncos led 2-1 after the first and 4-1 after the second.

Novice 3

The Novice 3 Broncos enjoyed a terrific week as they picked up a 19-2 win over Muenster/Lake Lenore W on Jan. 11 in Muenster in the Broncos’ lone game of the week.

Sloan Harder led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring 11 times, while Carter Possberg added three of his own, Mitchel Dagenais scored a pair, and Mason Parobec, Karston Leonard, and Andrew Millette each scored once as the Broncos led 8-0 after the first period, and 13-0 after the second.

Novice 4

It was a decent week for the Novice 4 Broncos as they split a pair of games.

The Broncos’ week got off to an excellent start as they picked up a comfortable 10-4 win over ViCo on Jan. 11 in Viscount.

Seth Holtvogt finished with a game high five goals for the Broncos, who also got two goals each from Kale Rintoul and Tyce Gyrmacheski, and a single from Abby Zimmerman, as the Broncos led 3-2 after the first and 8-2 after the second.

The week unfortunately came to a terrible end for the green and gold as they were pasted 11-2 by Southey on Jan. 14 in Southey.

Mathias Puetz and Holtvogt each found the back of the net for the Broncos, who trailed 4-0 after the first and 8-0 after the second.
