1982 ~ TORRESAN ~ 2011

1982 ~ TORRESAN ~ 2011 . Monday, 12 September 2011 09:12 Mr. Matthew "Matt" Harvey Torresan passed away on Thursday, September 8th, 2011 at the age of 29 years. Matt leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Kelly (Shawn) Torresan and Cindy Blanchette, both of Medicine Hat; two brothers, Brendan Torresan and Sam Greenfield; one sister, Jessica Torresan (Drew Pierce), all of Medicine Hat; his grandparents, Harvey Blanchette and Norene Starnes, Gloria Blanchette, and Shirley Torresan; his nieces and nephews, Abbigail and Callum Allford and their father, Andrew; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Matt was predeceased by his sister, Genevieve Allford; and his grandfather, Matteo Torresan. Matthew was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan on April 30th, 1982 to a very excited big sister, Genevieve who then named him "Big Bird". He enjoyed playing with his older sister, friends and numerous cousins. When Matthew was 2, he welcomed a baby brother, Brendan and three years later his baby sister, Jessica. Matthew started Kindergarten in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan where his parents then realized how much he "hated school". His family later moved to Medicine Hat where he continued his schooling. As Matthew grew older he gained many friends, some through school and many through his attendance at ALL the local house parties. At the age of 14, Matthew moved to North Battleford to live with his grandmother and started Grade 9. Everywhere Matthew went he was instantly loved. He was a free spirit and always liked to dance to the beat of his own drum. Matthew was a jack-of-all-trades, always willing to help when a hand was needed; there was nothing he couldn't figure out. Matthew always loved children and was ecstatic when his niece, Abbigail and nephew, Callum were born. His brother, Sam, was born in 2006. Matthew was a true big brother to all his siblings protecting and annoying, sparing no expense no matter the age difference. His friends were extremely important to him. Anyone that knew him knew a generous, kind, big-hearted man that will be missed by many. The Funeral Service will be held in SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Wednesday, September 14th, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Gary W. Goran officiating.
