Cash, cocaine and Glock pistol seized in Prince Albert raid

PRINCE ALBERT -  Three people are facing charges after the Prince Albert Police Service Crime Reduction Team (PACRT) concluded a drug trafficking investigation with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), Proactive Policing Unit (PPU), Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team (STRT) and patrol members.

On Jan. 17, members of the Emergency Response Team conducted enforcement action on a group of people believed to be trafficking cocaine at a residence in the 500 block of 5th Street East in Prince Albert.

Five people were arrested and a subsequent search conducted by the Crime Reduction Team resulted in the following seizures: a loaded Glock 9mm pistol, $9,510 CAD, 290 grams of soft cocaine, 255 grams of crack cocaine, Three cell phones, two scales, and other paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

As a result of this investigation, a 19-year-old Kitchener, Ont., man and a 21-year-old Surrey, B.C., man are facing a total of 23 charges relating to trafficking a controlled substance, as well as a number of firearms offences.

A 39-year-old man has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

As well, a 38-year-old woman has been charged with a breach of conditional sentence order.

One person was released without charges.
