PRINCE ALBERT - A man has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking following a traffic stop by a member of the Prince Albert Police Service Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan (PACTSS) on Sunday morning.
On March 23, at approximately 11 a.m., a member of PACTSS conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the Gateway Mall.
As the officer approached the vehicle, they observed five adult occupants.
As a result of the investigation, the officer determined that two passengers had outstanding warrants, leading to their arrests.
One of them, an 18-year-old Regina man, was found in possession of a backpack containing a large quantity of cocaine and Canadian currency.
The investigation yielded the following evidentiary seizures:
- iPhone
- 9 ounces of suspected cocaine
- $8,060 CAD
- Other items consistent with drug trafficking
As a result, an 18-year-old man has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and breaching probation.
He made his first court appearance earlier this week in Prince Albert Provincial Court.
