PRINCE ALBERT - The Prince Albert Police Service and City of Prince Albert is advising the public that gunshots may be heard in the area around the 1300 block of 15th Avenue West on the evening of March 13 in Prince Albert.
Four rounds will be discharged from a firearm to kick-off the mataw samogamik ceremony at approximately 6 p.m.
Live ammunition is not being used.
The mataw samogamik ceremony is hosted by the Prince Albert Indian and Metis Friendship Centre at the Bernice Sayese Centre at 1350 15th Avenue West.
Members of the public will come together as a community to learn, dance, share stories, and laugh.
The Prince Albert Police Service can assure the discharging of the firearm has been authorized and all safety precautions are being taken.
"We would like to thank members of the public for their cooperation during this time," police said in the press release.
