Taxi driver stabbed, robbed in Prince Albert incident

PRINCE ALBERT -  Three people were arrested and two are facing charges in relation to a stabbing early Thursday morning in Prince Albert.

On Jan. 23 at approximately 1:30 a.m. police were called to the 500 block of 28th Street East for a report of an injured person.

Dispatch advised that a cab driver had been stabbed.

Arriving officers quickly located a male suffering from injuries consistent with a stabbing.

Paramedics arrived on scene shortly after and the victim was taken to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Through their investigation, officers were able to obtain video surveillance and determined that two males and a female entered the cab and at the end of the ride, one of the males allegedly struck the victim with a knife and proceeded to rob him.

The Prince Albert Police Canine Unit attended and a K9 track was conducted, which ended in the area of 28th Street West and 4th Avenue East where officers had located and detained a male and female for a robbery investigation.

The 31-year-old man and 30-year-old woman were arrested shortly after.

The 31-year-old man has been charged with obstructing police.

At approximately 9:15 a.m. while responding to a separate call, officers located the second male suspect. He was arrested without further incident. The 31-year-old man is facing charges relating to robbery, aggravated assault, and disguise with intent and is schedules to appear in court Friday morning.
