SASKATOON - Three youths have been arrested in relation to the deployment of bear spray and a robbery at two separate businesses yesterday.
Shortly after 6 p.m., Feb. 26, patrol officers responded to an off-sale business in the 1300 block of 8th Street East after it was reported bear spray had been deployed toward a staff member. Three suspects fled the scene before police arrived.
A short time after, a robbery was reported at a gas station in the 900 block of 8th Street East. When police arrived, several youth were taken into custody. Further investigation determined two of the youth matched the descriptions from the earlier deployment of bear spray. A third youth was found to be in possession of a can of bear spray.
Two male youths, ages 14 and 17, are both charged with assault with a weapon.
Another 14-year-old male youth is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.
