Update: Saskatoon man charged following several armed robberies

Between Dec. 19, 2024, and Jan. 2, 2025, nine armed robberies and two attempted armed robberies were reported to police that were believed to be connected.

SASKATOON - Update: March 11, 2025, 10:51 a.m.: One man has been arrested and charged in relation to a series of armed robberies in late 2024 and early 2025 in Saskatoon.

Between Dec. 19, 2024, and Jan. 2, 2025, nine armed robberies and two attempted armed robberies were reported to police that were believed to be connected, including robberies in the 1900 block of McKercher Drive and 2300 block of Preston Avenue South, resulting in the theft of an undisclosed amount of money. Through an ongoing investigation, a suspect was identified and later arrested by police.

As a result, the 38-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with robbery (x9) and attempted robbery (x2).

Original post, Dec. 24, 2024, 10:23 a.m.: Saskatoon police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred this morning.

At approximately 6:30 a.m.. Dec. 24, 2024, police were called to a gas station in the 2300 block of Preston Avenue South.  An employee reported that a male had entered the business, demanded the till be opened, and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.  The suspect was armed with a knife at the time of the incident.  He is described as having a thin build, wearing a black hoodie, black mask, black and white shoes and grey sweat pants.  

No one was injured.
