SASKATOON - Police are searching for a third suspect following an assault, yesterday.
Patrol officers were called to a shopping mall in the 3500 block of 8th Street East on Feb. 24 at approximately 4:30 p.m. for reports of an assault.
Police learned that a group of people had become confrontational towards an individual, who had been seated outside of a store.
Multiple suspects were observed hitting the victim.
The altercation escalated when one suspect produced a machete and struck the victim.
The group of suspects fled the scene as officers arrived.
Police located a 16-year-old male victim inside the mall suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.
Two suspects were located on a City Transit bus parked outside where they were arrested without incident.
Two 15-year-old youths were charged with assault.
The suspect who allegedly struck the victim with the machete remains outstanding. At the time of the incident he was wearing glasses, a red hat and black pants. He had a light-coloured backpack over a black sweater with black shoes.
This incident is not believed to be random in nature.
