WILKIE — The Little Seedlings Daycare Centre board went all in on their latest fundraiser, bringing an evening of slots, chips and cards to the SaskCan Community Centre Nov. 16.
Kayla Slind, secretary for the daycare board, said the evening was a great success for the daycare.
“We estimated there was around 100 people in attendance, and we raised roughly $34,000 for the daycare,” she said.
With help from all the board members, the meeting hall space turned into a casino, with specialty food and beverages, a wide variety of casino-styled games and a silent auction.
Slind says the funds from the evening will be used for the upstairs renovations once the board receives the engineered plans and a tender for the work has been awarded.
Although the board has no other fundraisers on the go currently, they are hoping to continue their winning streak with construction and funding to open sooner than the set date of March 2026.
