UNITY - Kyla Caswell was the lucky winner of the Unity and District Chamber of Commerce Christmas promotion known as Grand in Your Hand.
In a new format, the Chamber offered a promotion to encourage shopping local for the holiday season with the reward being $1,000 in gift certificates redeemable at a number of Unity businesses.
Grand in Your Hand has become a popular Christmas tradition in Unity and the Chamber decided to change up the way the program was delivered for 2021.
Carey the Nutcracker, affectionately named after former Unity Economic Development Officer Carey Baker, was located at a different Unity business each day of the week starting Nov. 26. Each hosting business had the opportunity to present a promotion or special in store when they were serving as Carey's host.
All the entry forms were collected and the winner was announced at the Unity Winter Wonderland festivities Dec. 16.
