Unity AG Foods gives local a year's supply of groceries

What would you do when you learned you won free groceries for a year? Unity's Katherine King felt very lucky when she was presented her prize Feb. 10.

UNITY — The rising cost of groceries has consumers looking for any breaks they can get.  However, Unity's Katherine King, received a bigger break on her family food budget than she ever expected. 

Feb. 10 was an exciting day for Unity’s Katherine King as she was the winner of free groceries for a year from Unity’s AG Foods, Great Grocery Giveaway contest.

AG Foods store owner/operator, Darcy Thomas, says, “Associated Grocers, who runs this contest, draws one winner a week for six weeks of the contest.”

The value of the prize is $5,200.

Thomas also says, “AG Foods in has now had customers win two free cars along with the latest large prize over the last several years.”

Caroline Bulcke of Unity won a Toyota car valued at $30,000 from Unity AG Foods location in July of 2022, from the "Wheel into Summer" contest.

Rick McLellan, sales rep from Associated Grocers out of Calgary, Alta., was on hand to help make the presentation to King.
