UNITY - Senior reporter Sherri Solomko and freelance reporter Helena Long have been named finalists for the Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association's 2022 Better Newspapers Competition.
Solomko is finalist in the category for "Best Health/Healthcare Coverage, Single Story of Feature" for her story titled Recent area graduates now front line of pandemic. She is also a finalist in the "Best Habitat Conservation Writing" for Unity bat story comes to a conclusion. She was also selected as a finalist for her black and white photo Hidden Horse.
Long is a finalist for "Best First Nations Coverage" for her opinion piece under Phippen Philospophy.
Both Solomko and Long have a number of past SWNA awards hanging in Unity's Press-Herald office, that showcases the quality work that has been done by the Press-Herald team.
