UNITY - Unity Fire Department says their December was relatively quiet. The team reported to two motor vehicle accidents, two fire calls and two false alarms from home security systems.
Unity Fire Chief Dwaine Kopp, reminds motorists the importance of dressing warmly when travelling, especially when its extremely cold. "You never know how long you could be outside following an incident, potentially in snow, waiting for help to arrive."
In their commitment to continue to engage with the community, UFD had several entries in Unity's Winter Lights parade showcasing an important safety message.
Residents are also reminded the New Year is a good time to check batteries on smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors to ensure they are in good working order to help alert people to potential emergency situations.
