UNITY — After winning three must-win games Aug. 6. the Unity U19 Panthers were headed to medal rounds of the Western Canadian Softball Championships in Richmound, B.C.
While the result was not what the team had their sights set on but their story is filled with resiliency and perseverance, and resulted in a bronze medal.
Opening day Aug. 4, the Panthers rattled off two decisive wins through some weather adversity, but had to settle themselves for the next day's competition after a third-game loss.
Seeing the competition that lay ahead of them, the Panthers remained steadfast in their goal to be playing in finals Sunday.
Unity fans and supporters flooded social media with their congratulations and Panther pride following the medal win.
