Unity RCMP lay charges in response to man threatening people

Five charges laid after Unity RCMP respond to complaint of male threatening people at a residence in Unity

UNITY — The Unity RCMP responded to a complaint, in the early hours of Sept. 3, of a male threatening people at a residence in Unity. Unity members attended and began searching for the male who had left the residence after members were called.

Throughout the early morning hours, multiple 9-1-1 calls were received about the same male attending to other residences of persons known to him,while members were looking for him.

Cut Knife members came to assist the Unity members who located the male inside a residence. The male was held in custody following his arrest.   

25-year-old Patrick John Bruce Schapansky, of Unity, appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court on Sept. 6 on the following offenses:

  1.  Utter Death Threats

  2.  Utter Death Threats

  3.  Possess a weapon for a dangerous purpose (knife).

  4.  Criminal Harassment.

  5.  Mischief Under $5,000 by interfering with the lawful enjoyment of property.

Schapansky was remanded in custody for a Show Cause Hearing on Sept. 8. in North Battleford.
