UNITY - A sigh of relief was heard in Unity when volunteers stepped forward to replace longtime organizers of Unity’s Winter Wonderland tradition.
This annual community Christmas themed event in Unity will continue. While the details are still being sorted out, a committee of Nicole Headrick, Hollie Robertson, Toni Bryan and Kayla Meredith will spearhead the 2021 event. Tammy Launinger, Christie Gerein and Kendra Haji have also expressed interest in helping, making for an organizing group of seven.
The date has jumped a little, now set for Dec.16.
The all-female organizing team says they will keep the parade component as part of the event, building on last year's success.They are also planning to host some activity in downtown Unity.
Residents are asked to join the event Facebook page and watch for details on social media, as well as from the Unity Chamber of Commerce.
