Romeo Melanson: 1932 - 2024
Our Dad Romeo Melanson passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024 at the beautiful age of 92. We grieve at his leaving but we are relieved his suffering on earth is over. Dad's memory will live on forever in our hearts, we will miss Dad dearly.
Romeo is survived by his son Tim (Ola) Melanson; daughters: Shiela (Abdou) Zanidean, Jackie Speetjens (Scott), Lori (Dennis) Preston, Connie (Danny) Skoropat, and Roselle (Jason) Heleta; 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; his only surviving sibling Laura Neville, as well as his fishing buddy Jim Woloshen and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Maxine; grandson Jason Stefanski; parents: Ferdinand and Ida Melanson; sisters: Marguerite, Alice, Rose, Rita and Florida; brothers: Arthur, Leo, Paul, Albert, Joseph and Sylvain; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Mary and Earl Freundl, and many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
The Prayer Service was held at Hall Funeral Services in Estevan on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Estevan on Monday, December 23, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Thuy Nguyen was the Celebrant. A time of fellowship and refreshments was held in the parish hall immediately following the Funeral Mass. The Rite of Committal took place at Souris Valley Memorial Gardens.
