REGINA - Highway conditions have improved on roads hit hard by Sunday's winter storm conditions in Saskatchewan.

The dumping of heavy wet snow caused havoc on highways west of Regina on Sunday, with Highway 1 between Regina and Swift Current closed for a lengthy period of time into Monday morning.

Many of those highways including all of Highway 1 have since reopened to traffic as of Monday afternoon. Despite that, there are still Travel Not Recommended warnings in place for Highway 1 west of Regina and there are some highways in the vicinity of Moose Jaw and Swift Current that are still closed to traffic as of 3:30 p.m. in the afternoon.

Crews are continuing to work to restore power to all the areas around Moose Jaw that lost power during Sunday's snowstorm. A number of areas had their power back as of Monday, and work continues to restore power to remaining portions of the province.

Also, SaskTel reported an outage in the Caronport area this morning and they report they were on the scene looking to restore homephone, wireless, internet and maxTV stream services to that area.
