REGINA- Regina Airport Authority has announced that YQR - Regina International Airport will have direct flights to nine sun destinations this winter.
Sunwing and WestJet will be offering non-stop flights to the USA, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Cuba. At its peak they expect 17 international flights per week.
The destinations are as follows:
Phoenix, Arizona on WestJet once a week starting Nov, 16;
Las Vegas, NV on WestJet twice a week Oct. 2-23 then once a week from Nov. 2;
Orlando, FL on WestJet once a week from Dec 8;
Cancun, Mexico five times a week, on Sunwing starting Nov. 11 and WestJet starting Oct. 29.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexicofour times a week, on Sunwing Nov.13 and WestJet starting Nov. 5;
Mazatlán, Mexico once a week on Sunwing starting Dec. 8 — the flight stops in Saskatoon on the way to and from Regina;
Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic once a week on Sunwing starting Dec. 7;
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic once a week on Sunwing starting Dec 13;
Varadero, Cuba once a week on Sunwing starting Dec. 12.

“With so many direct flights to popular destinations available, southern Saskatchewan residents can look forward to a fantastic sun holiday when temperatures start dropping.”
Last winter Regina had also offered flights direct to sun destinations, but Sunwing saw several service disruptions resulting in most of their winter service from Regina being cancelled. It has since been announced that WestJet has completed its acquisition of Sunwing, with plans to merge the airline into WestJet.
