REGINA - Snow routes have been declared in the City of Regina.
This is in response to the latest dumping of snow happening in the city, with a Snowfall Warning in effect. Upwards of 10 to 15 cm of snow are expected to fall in the city of Regina.
The Snow Routes declaration means there is no on-street parking along those identified routes for a 24-hour period, which will allow city crews to plow those roads from curb to curb. The parking ban begins at 6 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, and there is no parking along the snow route until 6 a.m. the next day Saturday, Dec. 3.
Vehicles remaining parked on the snow route during that time will be ticketed, according to the city. Snow routes are identified in the city by blue signs with a white snowflake on them.
Residents can get notifications whenever snow routes are declared by downloading the city’s Sweep&Plow app, by signing up for custom email or phone notifications at Regina.ca/snowroutes, and by following the city’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.
The City of Regina has announced it has also activated the Regina.ca/storm page, and they are urging residents to check that page for up-to-date information in the next 24 to 72 hours on how Regina is responding to the storm.
